Abstract:
Systems modelling requirements are continually evolving with
an increased
demand for multiple-machine configurations. The High Level Architecture
(HLA), IEEE Standard 1516, provides a solution that enables the
developer
to exploit the capabilities of these distributed systems. The
US Department
of Defence has adopted the HLA as the standard technical architecture
for
all its simulations since 1996.
This talk will give an overview of the systems modelling capability
that
can be achieved through the use of the HLA in the development
of systems
modelling practices. This will include upgrading legacy systems
through to
development of new modelling environments. Practical examples
will be
demonstrated to illustrate the versatility of models developed
under the
HLA regime.
