Australia is now a member of an international consortium that delivers annual international radar conferences. This series involves the US, UK, China, France and now, Australia. The conference for 2002 was hosted by the UK in Edinburgh over the period 15-17 October 2002 and the conference for 2004 will be hosted by France in Toulouse over the period 19-21 October 2004 – see www.see.asso.fr/radar2004/
RADAR 2003 was underwritten and co-sponsored by the Cooperative Research Centre for Sensor Signal and Information Processing and IEEE South Australia Section. The Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), the US Asian Office of Aerospace R&D (AOARD) and the US Army Research Office-Far East (ARO-FE) were proud sponsors of RADAR 2003.

This conference is one of a multi-nation annual series termed “RADAR XXXX” involving France, the United States, China, the United Kingdom and Australia and hosted in turn by these countries. It is organised with the support of the relevant engineering institutions in these countries, respectively Societe Des Electriciens et des Electroniciens (SEE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust).
